Nope they are of the black or blue insulated crimp-on style spades.

Success!

I've got a couple of connectors that were previously unknown:

First up: RPM Relay socket! Perfect fit!

Both connectors (and more) are available on the web via Rick Donckers Auto Electrics http://www.rdae.nl
- CSV style connector: part 20899, €0,76. requires 3-8260-STK pins, €0,50 each
- CSV connector short booth: part 20902, €0,92
- MC6 connector 6-pins (for RPM relay): €1,68 a set; this include male/female socket and 12 pins (6 male, 6 female).

I also bought a 3-pin connector for the Idle Speed Motor, but that didn't fit properly. See the picture below.

It doesn't fit because the metal spring is hitting the motor axis.

You usually press the metal spring in to connect/ release. Try that

Won't work. As you can see in the pictures it is just too big to fit. Even I you could squeeze the metal, it would no longer hold the plug in place. I might ask Rick if he has a slightly different plug.

Still not a bad result. I bought all these plugs not because mine were broken, but to see if they would be proper alternatives.

Just for reference, specialtauto also has these connectors (see here http://www.specialtauto.com/delorean-pa ... cal-2.html), but he charges $9.95 for a 2-pin connector w/o boot, and $5.95 for a boot. That's about 10 times as expensive..

Update: the 3-pin connector works if you swap the metal bracket around. Doesn't look as nice with the metal out, but at least it 'clicks' much better than the one I used to have.

SO: All the connectors I bought are a proper fit

I may be wrong, but I think these can be added to the reference section!

Yes Rob - you are allowed to do it! :D

Just put the DMC part number in the title if poss http://www.delorean.com/store/c-276-electrical.aspx , and the "official name" of the alternative part. If I understood the electrical compartment I would happily transfer it over, but I don't !

Rob,

Your RPM relay appears to have gotten HOT at some point. It might be worth getting a NEW one just to be safe. That same 6 spade connector is also the used for the Idle ECU.

Just for reference: The (Bosch Style) of connectors are officially known as ( JPT -Junior Power Timer) . When searching for them always include JPT or Junior Power Timer in the search box. example: (2 or 3 pin female junior power timer connector). It does seem that the modern day replacements are slightly different external design than the 30 year old ones, but will work in most cases. The color coordinated options aren't available that I know of. Just black ones. ( gray-WUR, blue-CSV, white-FV, Black-ISM )
