Looking for a Delorean

Postby savetheclocktower » Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:49 pm

Hi Guys,

Decided I think now is the time to take the plunge on my first Delorean. Im looking for a UK based car if possible. No to concerned on interior colour. Grey preffered but not essential. I would ideally like one that is ready to go and doesn't need a massive amount of work. I would maybe consider an import, if it means I can reduce the cost. But im a little concerned about the not being able to see the car part here, with this option.

Not sure if anybody is able to make a suggestion? Point me in the right direction?

I have been in touch with PJ Grady and also made a couple of Enquiries abroad, so the search goes on.

Thanks guys.

Hi Mike,

Im in shropshire. I have been on here before but some time ago. Loved the car since I saw it in the BTTF films. Had a ride in Chris Hawes car a while back as a birthday present!

Hi Chriss,

I had noticed that one to be fair. A few friends who know I'm looking have mentioned it as well.

Thanks for taking the time to post the link.

There are only a few that I would touch tbh , Deloreans have a nasty habit of becoming a money pit if your not careful .
I think Tyson might be selling his possibly nearer the summer and I know the car very well , just get in and drive as everything has been done , forget about the states £ to $ is really bad .
Yes you could buy one in for £15k but then you need rebrush springs seat covers poss engine rebuild if its auto it won't work for long ( my opinion ) tyres , the list goes on .
Buy in the UK save the headache TT

That auction site states ' only 11500 miles' as if its a good thing.
If your buying one my opinion is to avoid the low milers...

Roll on roll off about £1k container + £300 when it lands
All your duties on top .
I brought mine from Florida in 2004 and ended up spending 7k restoring it , so if your a sado masochistic and enjoy a challenge that might be for you ;)

And as Al says , low milers mean no anti corosion in the engine block for years and iv seen what that does :( TT
