2011 DeLorean EuroTec Weekend - 24th June 2011 - Norfolk, UK

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT NEXT YEAR (2011)!
The 6th year of this event!

This event is taking place across the weekend of Thu 23rd, Fri 24th, Sat 25th, Sun 26th June 2011 in Norfolk. As with the Lotus 2006 event and the highly successful sell-out EuroTec events in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, this will be centred around club member and DeLorean car owner, Arran Jamieson's (that's me!) private hotel. Attendance at these events is always high, and 2010's event had 125 people in attendance, of which 45 were DeLorean owners with 35 DeLorean cars.

As with the last 5 years, this will be a guaranteed sell-out, and the best rooms will be allocated in booking order. At the moment the entire hotel (40 rooms) has been blocked booked for this event's exclusive use, so please book soon to ensure it stays this way! Strong interest has already been shown again for this event, as before there is NO charge for the event itself, just the cost of food, drink and accommodation. Previous years have been attended by 30-40 DeLoreans. The entire hotel is used exclusively just for this event.

Already booked in as of June 2010 are 58 people, with 24 DeLorean cars! :shock:

- Chris and Darren from PJ Grady (Europe) will be attending with both the DeLorean "Pilot 19" car and the DeLorean "Pilot 20" car. Pilot 19 is currently being painstakingly restored by Chris Nicholson of PJ Grady (Europe).

The basis of the weekend will be around 'Workshop / Tech sessions' throughout the weekend, as well as socialising and meeting new faces. A workshop marquee will be set up to provide shelter and areas of work, and as before we will take over the bar for the weekend :wink:

Specialists will be on hand to provide us with technical and hands on assistance over the course of the event. This will involve engine tuning, wheel alignment, minor bodywork re-graining / repairs, torsion bar adjustments, etc. etc.! Many more 'activities' are planned, details to follow.

As before we will be arranging a scenic drive and other activities over the weekend (mainly on the Saturday) - more to be announced later. There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend, with something for eveyone. As usual, the main organisers will be Arran, Mike, Alistair, Nick T and Glen.

DeLorean Drivers Offer:
This year, in an attempt to try and get closer to 50(!) cars attending, and to reward those who are helping to maintain the hotel's "glamorous" image, one owner of each DeLorean car in attendance will receive up to a £40 food credit (pro-rata according to stay, only apples to those who stay, food credit only, and only covers the meals specified below - Friday night to Sunday morning). A proper BTTF conversion counts as double!
i.e.:
a single occupancy who arrives in a DeLorean won't pay for food at all.
2 people in a twin or double room who arrive in 2 DeLoreans (or 1 BTTF conversion) won't pay for food at all.
2 people in a twin or double room who arrive in 1 DeLorean will both pay the equivalent of half price for food.

B&B Rates:
(these rates were set in June 2010 and apply to confirmed bookings made now. They will increase at some point.) Once you have booked then your food and accommodation prices are locked in, even when the rate of VAT goes up. Book now to get the best price - you can always cancel later!)

Food costs and menus (see above for "DeLorean Drivers Free Food Offer"):
Friday 7.30: Main course, plus self serve dessert - £11 per person
Saturday 8.00-9.30: Breakfast (included in accommodation price)
Saturday 1.00: Lunch Buffet (hot and cold) - £6 per person
Saturday 8.00: 3 courses including wine - £23 per person
(starter, buffet main course (large choice including 2 carved meats, chicken, fish, salads, etc.), self serve dessert)
Sunday 8.00-9.30: Breakfast (included in accommodation price)

The total price to ensure that you are well fed from Friday night until Sunday morning will be £40 per person total (for those that don't qualify for the "free food" offer). Other than drinks that should be it!

If you stay on Thursday night as well you will get a 50% discount on all food purchased all day Thursday and up to 3pm on Friday. If you stay on Sunday night as well you will a 50% discount on all food purchased all day Sunday. The same discount system applies to all extra days booked! - even if you stay for 2 weeks!

You will also get a 50% discount on all food purchased before 3pm on Friday.

Anyone is welcome to come along for the day - please just let us know though if you're bringing a DeLorean so we've got an idea of numbers, and what meals you will be here for.

Generally most people stay for Friday and Saturday night (although 30 people are staying on Thursday too this year, and many people are staying even longer!). As an example, if you book now before the price rises, you bring a DeLorean, you stay for 2 nights, and there are 2 of you in one room then the total price for 2 nights is just £110 per person (£220 in total), including ALL food!
