After seeing the video, I had a nagging feeling they tried to cover up a bad product by telling us that it should be installed correctly.

They have to be so careful of legal action especially in the states, that's why he kept stressing that this part was a copy of the original part using the original design drawings.

By doing this it will go some way to protect them from legal action, in the only way possible without dropping themselves in it, they have admitted that with a few design changes the part would be ok, and given advice on how to fit the replacements for best longevity.

I'm sure if you had a problem and called them direct they would issue a replacement, but most people seem to take their fight to the Forums before bothering to contact the vendors direct.

Not trying to defend anyone, just being realistic from the other angle.

Just my 2p

Oh I was never trying to 'point a finger' so to say. I really appreciate the amount of detail Steven gives us; it is very informative. I was just contemplating on the undertone of the video.

Manxman, your balljoints from the club are not the ones in this video, yours are safe.

I think what he means Dan is that he bought a pair of DMCH ones which were "officially" unsafe before they were even used (failed the Isle Of Mann import test), and now that this video is out he has grounds for a refund. His SpecialTAuto/Volkswagen/DeLorean Club ones are of course fine.

Sorry I misread, blame it on the cocktails last night.

Yes I know, I used the 'club' ones to replace a pair of the ones in the video. Which as I say lasted a grand total of 275ish miles before failing.

Yes they where the sole cause of the car initially failing the import test.
