Hi guys

I want to share this video against these Henninger brackets https://picasaweb.google.com/1105335024 ... 8227393922

I think Dmc.eu brackets are simpler and better.. unless you have serious damages in the fiberglass area...

Best wishes

Thanks Andrea... that is very useful!

I haven't heard of any complaints like that over on dmctalk. I think in order to do it properly, you need a large area of properly shaped sandwich plate as Darren describes above.

Cheers

Exactly Andy.

Andrea, great video it explains my point perfectly.

Anyone who's taken a strut off knows how heavy a Delorean door is. The torsion bar and door hinge act together as a fulcrum, the door is the lever and hence the weight is concentrated at the strut mounting. So much so that I do have reservations about others repair plate thickness that I've posted on other forums being too thin.
Your video Andrea shows my concerns exactly. Thats why I have little faith in the longevity of a glass repair and installation of a "new" plate in wafer thin steel thats barely 4" long as is currently available at several suppliers.

Hi guys ,

the merits of the video belong to Andrea Cineman , who is a friend of mine :D

when he installed those brackets on a customer car I remember also they had wrong size ball studs o_o so it was a bad experience at all..

Lol, yeah not sure that would keep out the wind and rain. More of a "fair weather" car then!

PM sent Darren. I'll need two brackets, one for each side. Looks daunting in some ways, but will hopefully not be as bad as it looks. Either way I'll be much happier knowing its done.
