Searching for VIN?

Postby Andy » Fri May 04, 2012 9:37 am

Hallo everybody

Is have a question: in the last few years I've been trying to locate European DeLoreans by there VIN-numbers and owners names. I have a few numberplates that I haven't been able to locate (if they even exist today :) ). Maybe some of you guys can help me with the name of the current owners, their VIN-number and their whereabouts today?

These are the numberplates I'm looking for in the UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland :

- 6 TR ( painted red )
- 81 CE 377
- 81 MH 433
- 82 D 3138
- 81 DL 675
- A325 UGF
- AXI 1300
- B261 AKN
- BXI 6015
- DCM 877X
- DEL 31L
- FJI 8016
- PNU 170W
- RIA 7126
- RIA 7352
- S1 MON
- SIJ 9947
- UXI 6434
- YDP 709X

PS. You can always PM me too ... this is not for commercial reasons or something ; I just don't think anybody has ever made a complete list with European DeLoreans, their VIN's and the name of their owners. I'm just curious what I can find ...

Thanks for the help!

6 TR (Red) was owned by the late Tommy Rodgers of TR Shipping in Belfast.
His son Michael now owns the car.

Thanks for the update, Robert!!

So "S1 MON" isn't an official registration number?

About "RIA 7126" and "RIA 7352": do you mean the car of the registration number?

Hi

I wasn't planning on putting the list on the internet (and I won't), since the list contains names, numberplates and current whereabouts of the owners. Since not everybody wants there name and there numberplate on the World Wide Web, I'm gonna respect this by not putting it out there ...
Besides, when is the list ever 'finished'? So many DeLoreans change hands every day (well, maybe not every day, but you know what I mean ...), so there can never be a 'finished' list.

I started with this after Eurofest2006, when I saw all the photos of different DeLoreans after the event. I talked to several owners back then, but I didn't knew what DeLorean was theres. I wanted to link the numberplates to the owners, just to know what DeLorean belonged to who. So I gathered al the information thrue the different clubsites (and Eurofest2011) and put it all in one Excel-file. It started with European Deloreans, but since then I made the list 'worldwide', since a lot of DeLoreans come over from the States (or going back). It's not something I work on everyday :D , but when owners change cars, I try to keep up ...

That's my reason for making such a list, but I won't put it on the internet ... sorry.

Not sure I see the point in this, especially given the info is effectively being hoarded by one individual.

This makes more sense :

http://www.citizenkidd.com/DMC/pages/vin.asp

http://www.citizenkidd.com/DMC/pages/vinview_TOTALS.asp

With this being pretty close to what your doing:

Yes, I knew about this site. But it doesn't tell you the name of the owners, their registrationnumber and the history of the car. And that's exactly what my startingpoint was, I wanted to know what DeLorean belonged to what registrationnumber when I see a picture of a DeLorean somewhere on the internet (or elsewhere) ...

S1 MON is an official number, it is just that the used car vendor was called Simon and was selling a D, but didn't own it.

These RIA numbers were on press cars back in '81, but I have never worked out which VINs they were on, and therefore where those cars are now. The UK drivers agency doesn't have any data on them, so if they are still on actual cars, they are not registered (and haven't been for a long time.
