Gear Change Broken

Postby ohms » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:37 am

Hello evry body,

I'm Renaud From France, I'm owner of 862 some of you meet me at 2010 Raphael SiverCoast, I read some time the forum and I'm full :spaxed: since a week and it's very good (Thanks Arranj).

But if I write here it's for a problem with my Gearchange, I broken it, I don't know exactly the name for you but it's the Handle or Lever broken at the base at the rear gear pin, the full part existe but out of stock (105811) but maybe some one here have an idea to replace it by an other reference.

Thanks.

Hi Renaut

Nice work on the Spax!

The only way to find one within the DeLorean community is to find someone parting out a manual car maybe on dmctalk?

But they tend to fetch high prices.

But....a keen eyed member of ours (Big007) was inspecting mine once and reckoned that it’s a Lotus Esprit part and upon further inspection that would appear to be the case

See here

S1 Lotus Esprit looks to be the right part if you compare to stock picture here

Maybe this lever will be the right match, how does the old one attach to the assembly?, I think thats the right one!

We have more than a few Lotus experts who may know where the part can be sourced cheaper etc.

Thanks for you answer Alistair
It look like the same (with the picture), I have not asked on DMC Talk but I will surely do.

If I inderstand your question, the old one is fix with a spring inside the "gimbals" ? (for the rear gear pin), but I can't see exactly how it attach and at this time I c'ant remove it from is place because of the link with the gearbox.
your link can help me, I continue my investigation.

Hi Renaut

This shows the Esprit lever, which upon first glances looks the same.

I would try and get a complete assembly

Renaut

Is it the lever which is broken or the crossgate part?

Can you upload a picture?
