I'm off up to the 7th sept. So any weekends after that are fine by me.

OK, so the current plan is that Dan and I fetch the engine in the very near future and take it up to Gosfield. I take off the ignition distributor and stick it on mine to see what difference it makes. Then we have Gez-tec in all its glory on 25th September.
The people who've expressed an interest in being involved in this grand piece of folly so far are: Me Dan Chris Al TT
Who else fancies a late summer splash?
The other advantage that having a bit of time between fetching and installing is that I can perhaps smarten the motor up a bit too...
With the B28E now safely ensconced in a Gosfield barn I tootled over to Chris's today with a view to swapping the DeLorean ignition distributor with the one off the Ovlov. Obviously as it's a DeLorean, a job which should have taken about an hour took 3, but the new dizzy went on - the engine started straight up and the timing was bang on (13 degrees). After some nonsense with the car stalling when coming back from revs we checked a few pipes and electrical connections and it seemed to solve it.
On the road I would say there was definitely a noticeable difference in low revs pickup, and the top end power felt good too. So I'm proposing to go to the dyno place in Bedford that came to Eurotec and put the car back on there in current spec. Then when the Volvo engine goes in we'll know for sure what the difference is between B28F with Volvo fuel & ignition distributors & venturi and full B28E. We'll also have a good idea what the difference is between DMC and Volvo ignition dizzies (due to having gone on the dyno at *a hotel* in previous spec).
A couple of pics from the distributor / ignition Tec.
Disconnected the fuel return line, popped the 3 RH injectors (no FV ) and flipped the metering head over to gain access, removed dizz cap, marked where the dizzy body & where rotor arm pointed, undid the nut holding down the dizzy body and pulled. Out it came. As Gez mentioned car fired up straight away and was pritty much on 13deg so timed it to bang on 13deg as per Mr T's advice

Yes, the Volvo part no ends in 013, the De is 023 and I also have a 017 which I believe is the Swiss Volvo part no which the De is based on, ie with the Lambda system (FV) etc
