+1 on that

It's not all about BHP, from what I understand the higher compression B28E developes more torque higher up the rev range, at least that's what TT seemed to think, so I take it as gospel.

bottom line is the 'E'uropean spec engine is better than the 'F'ederal engine, mainly because of higher compression that gives the engine more torque at the LOWER rev range. The Federal engine had to meet all sorts of silly american emission rules and regs, whereas the European engines did not. There are a couple of ways around this problem, a subject I spoke to Ed Uding about 4 or 5 years ago, firstly you can skim the cylinder head of 1.3mm to increase the compression ratio to the same as the B28E spec, then the timing cogs on the cams have to be repositioned to allow for missing head height on the timing chains, or just put in B28E pistions.

Can someone tell me more about the high lift cams Chris mentioned and how they'd work with the B28E? Would it be similar to what DMCH do with their stage 2s?

Well after just having got back from seeing the B28E in action (kind of, it didn't move a car, only itself) I am swinging round to the idea of, as TT would say, 'fack it, throw the facker in'.

So if I were to moot the idea of Gez-tec, who would be interested, and when?

This is what Gez-tec would involve:
Removing 1 perfectly good DeLorean engine
Replacing with 1 slightly unknown Volvo engine
Swimming pool japes
Cups of tea
A barn
Pizza (or indeed takeaway of your choice on me)
Beer

The location would be Gosfield, Essex. And the date... either this Saturday (radical I know), or the weekend 28/29 August, or 4/5 September.

Let me know! :D
