All points taken on board, including Darren's unsaid shock and horror
I think the course of action is probably to get the ignition distributor on mine, see what difference it makes and then possibly have a go in a full B28E car (either TTs or potentially Dan's) and see how noticeable it is before making any decisions.
Here are the results from Eurotec's RR last year:
B28F cars: 120-127bhp
B28F with stainless exhaust: 133-138bhp
B28F with Volvo fuelling & stainless exhaust: 147bhp
B28E with stock exhaust (cat bypass): 152bhp
These results would appear to suggest that the stainless exhaust adds in the region of 10bhp, as does the Volvo fuelling. So conceivably a B28E with a stainless exhaust would put out 160+bhp (on 2009's RR, 2010's RR seemed to give readings about 10bhp higher). Of course there are variations between engines of 5bhp of more even with the same spec which are worth bearing in mind, but all other things (exhausts / condition of engine) being equal - these RR results would appear to suggest the difference between B28F with Volvo fuelling and B28E - which is what this thread is about... would be in the region of 10-15bhp.
We really need to get some more B28Es on the dyno to find out!
