Yes it does, I think the spring is forcing it that way

Have you got the results from your alignment? It might show the problem on that.

Theres no way the spring can force the top arm to twist, it only connects to the lower arm, and that is separated from the top arm by 2 ball joints. It looks like the lower arm is moving forward and back, what are the bushes like where it attaches to the ARB? Are the nuts fully done up against the big washer and that against the shoulder on the arb?

Al,

Did you bend the arm when that lower ball joint failed ? (did you check it after)

Looks like the top through bolt on the arm might be bent. It could still rotate which could throw the arm out of alignment.

Needs more investigation. I agree with Dan, the spring shouldn't bend the arm like that.

Regards
D

Yes it was that side, but I swapped the control arms around.

I checked with TT and Jason's cars today, after re-assembling again it seems to have 'normalised' ..so started to refit the anti-roll bar and threads damaged on nut inside chassis....typical

Not to sure at this point how to sort that, looks like the captive nuts are inside the crumple zone, I think RobDVeer had the same trouble,

I had the same trouble too Al. Use longer bolts and put nyloc nuts on them inside the front frame extension.
