Vin 11788 Middle Eastern Car

Postby Domi » Tue Jun 23, 2009 8:11 pm

Back in 2000, I found a DeLorean that was for sale in a garage, with a lot of other car.
I know it is from middle east (Saudi Arabia) because it has sticker on the car to prove where the car was.
Unfortunately, the seller wasn't kind enough to open the car, so I was unable to take any other picture, and I didn't think about the vin on the dash.
When I went back, a year after, the car was sold and the seller didn't want to tell me if the car was sold in France or elsewhere.
Maybe we can recognize it with the sticker on the windshield and the DeLorean logo on the hood which is on the wrong side.
Enough talking, here are the pictures:

Great find Domi, and from what I can its an ME car ok especially with the sticker you mentioned, it already holds all of the hallmarks externally.

On the back it has a rear number plate little surround, with an Auto Service label?, is this number a French one?

OK - I have re-hosted the pictures, so we've still got them. Looks like they want £15,000 for it - and nice seats! 8-)

Seems to have lost its DMC badge too! :(

Lovely isnt it....also looks like a Blaupunkt stereo..althought that might seem insignificant...I have seen two other ME cars that had the stereos changed out with models very similar to this, one particular dealer in the UAE was also a Blaupunkt stockist, and the latter cars were sold at the same place.

It 'could' point towards this car being originally sold at that dealership, matching the other two.

Hopefully as I said before it might have some paperwork, or even an customs document or something.

yeah it's also on the wrong way round, you'd need a strong little pinky to push the button on the side in to get it into drive.

I like the look of the seats though.

Ignition barrel hanging into the foot well, perhaps the keys were lost and he couldn't get the steering lock off.
